When i first saw this picture it gave me the impression that these two girls were stuck togehter. The more i lokked at it and thought, it showed love, friendship, family, laughter, joy, some type of point, and compassion. What if the two girls weren't stuck together but instead took the picture like that to give out a message.

Chapter 6 (The Makers Eye)

1. Those are great factors to succesful writing and revision. To express your meaning with past siuations as more assistance is a good idea depending on the topic.

2.As I was reading my essay aloud to myself I realized that it was very unorganized and felt like i could use a little more details.. I need to find a better way to be more organized and can put some work into how i introduce my essay. I also sould find more people to critize my essay as well before i do a final paper.

3. In some way Murray telling me who the speaker was grabed my attention and influenced how I read and comprehend the quote. It gave me a bit of an insight but there will always be tips in a reading to understand it better. It makes me feel a different way about te quote that it could not have been a hundred years ago.

Journal Entry #7

1. Orwell tries to prove his point that the English language is in trouble by saying that our thoughts or feelings has something to do with it. He also blames our bad habits or even ways that we grew accustomed to has a part of it as well.
2. I do agree with Orwell with the part that the english language has become worse especially in schools and is being abused in our daily lives. Many people will agree with me on this because the older people has seen changes throught out their time.
3. I do not agree with all of Orwell’s rules. I don't belive in all cases that you should use a big word but instead cut to the cases and make it understandable for all readers. I believe using words people don't see all of the time is good for us, because if we don’t understand something that is what the dictionary is for. I don’t think someone should have to down grade their writing knowledge for someone else when they can simply look something up that they do not understand.
4. When Orwell says you should focus on pictures and sensations before you put words on paper, I think he wants the writer to know what they are describing and describe it in detail as if it were right in front of them and not in their brain. I think the details is the point that gives essay the creativity.

Questions for Active Reading (Lightman and Goud)

1. In this particular story the technique was good in some sort to see preview of this story.

2. Yes it is important to know that lightman is a scientist because it gives the readers more insight of who is the main character. It's more clearer that Ligtman is a scientist because of all the scientific question stated. I don't believe a artist or social worker would write about earth in this manner.It's not like it can't happen but the specific manner of the story shows a scientist must have wrote it.

3.Lightman used a light hearted tone when at te end he was stating his views. He used a more serious tone when he was discussing other people concepts and so on. the effects of these tones show that there is a production for further research. the tones shows that there is a lot of questions that wants to be answered or moreso you can't always believe what you hear or read.

1.To support the theory of evolution Goud mentions natural selection and impercepitble change through immedicate degrees.

2. He uses example such as "the dogma of seperate creations" to show and explain the idea of theories.

3.I don't completely understand anything from this reading but i do know it has something to do with evolution. This reading is not for all readers.

In the News (US Deficit)

Personally this is a sensitive topic because i don't know too much ways to respond to it but i do know that America will have to do something indeed. What ever they do i sure hope it does not affect the economy with more damage. I do belive that they will need o get rid of someting that their holding on to thats not necessary to pay off the debt. In reality, i do think that what ever the president tries to do will affect us in some way.

In the News Children Voting

1. Do you think it makes sense to let children have a Mock Election or election, or is it just child’s play?
I do believe it makes sense to let children have mock election.It gives children another way to see things outside of the box moreso in a political view.

2.Do you think children between the ages of 8-13 actually know what their talking about or do you think there just getting it from adults, parents, or people in the community? In some sense i do think in cases children do know what their talking about but majority they get things from their parents or whoever raise them. Children will get things from their parents and think it is te right way because they figure that if it was an issue than teir parents would not do it. If a kid keep hearing or seeing something that is done repitive in teir faces then of course they willadapt to it and thinks its te right way.

3.Do you think that it’s accurate to say that children can actually pick the right candidate for the presidential election? No really because nine times out of ten their choosing the candidate because of their parents. Who is to say that the child has differnt views than their parents.
