The two essays "A Different Kind of Hero" and "Two Strangers In a Coffee Shop"of how you don't have to do anything materialistic or physical to be a hero.Just overcoming or having the mental state that tomorrow will be a better day is unbeatable. That primarily is the purpose of both the author in these stories. In the essay "A Different Kind of Hero", Hurricane Katrina was passing through the little boy town and thankfully he was not there but in a differsnt state. While everything he has known from his hometown was swept away, he was grateful for simply being alive. He was a different kind of hero because he gave courage and laughter that you couldn't take away. In the essay "Two Strangers in a Coffee Shop", the polish woman was taken way from her home by the Nazis. She was striped away of her life. The polish woman particular hero was the Americans. Even though she lost basically everyone , she remarried and move to America. In America, she found her children she lost during the Holocaust. These essays are reflective and makes you understand the options you have today. I have always known that to laugh is free and to smile is priceless. Everything they knew was tooken away but in the end they had a bit of a better tomorrow.
